Environmental Benefits

  • Reduces emissions of greenhouse gasses to the atmosphere. Our operations do not emit harmful by-products into the air we breathe.

  • Promotes reforestation and environmental management. Responsible and sustainable hydro operations also mean caring for our watershed. Along the way, we have managed to involve our communities in this endeavor and helped people from all walks of life to learn to respect the environment.

  • Promotes cleaner, less polluted rivers. We return the water to the rivers we got them from in a much cleaner state.

    Benefits to host communities

  • Our operation’s taxes are sources of community revenue. On top of the mandated taxes we pay, we also voluntarily donate a percentage of our gross revenues from electric generation to our host communities

  • Local employment. Renewable energy facilities are labor intensive, giving us the opportunity to train and employ people from our own communities.

  • Rural electrification. The proximity of our operations to some remote and isolated areas in the country has given us the chance to bring them the benefits of electricity.

  • Supports education, public health, and overall community development. We are empowering our communities by supporting projects and causes that improve lives.

  • Reduces our dependence on conventional energy fuels. Water is a clean and renewable source that is locally available.

  • Saves our economy precious US dollar reserves. We need not import conventional energy fuels in order to produce electricity.
