Hedcor Sibulan, Inc. is Davao del Sur’s No.1 top corporate taxpayer for the year 2009 with a P38-million in taxes poured into the government coffers.
Gregorio Jabonillo, Hedcor’s vice president for business development, received the plaque of recognition during the Bureau of Internal Revenue (Revenue Region No. 19 Davao City) Tax Campaign kickoff ceremony at the SM Davao’s Events Centre.
The awarding also coincided with the Hedcor Sibulan, Inc.’s signing of the “pledge of cooperation to be an advocate of compliance to tax laws”.
In 2008, it was also cited as corporate top taxpayer, just over a year since Hedcor Sibulan, Inc. started constructing the 42.5 MW Sibulan Hydropower Project in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.
Aside from being a faithful taxpayer, Hedcor Sibulan, Inc. is committed to the betterment of its host communities. It has contributed close to P700-million in a 25-year span to its host barangays and municipalities in donations, funding support to livelihood projects, health care, scholarships and watershed management.
Up north, Hedcor, Inc., a sister company of Hedcor Sibulan, Inc., has also been cited as top taxpayer in the province of Benguet after paying taxes amounting to P48 million in 2009.
Hedcor Sibulan, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AboitizPower, the holding company for Aboitiz Group’s investments in power generation, distribution, retail and power services.
