Pupils of Gilbert Semon Elementary School in Tadiangan, Tuba and Bodiweng Elementary School in Bineng, La Trinidad celebrate a new school building and a renovated classroom.
With the help of the local government and Aboitiz Foundation, Hedcor contributes to the education system by providing conducive learning environment.
The one -storey school building in Gilbert Semon serves as the classroom for a section of Grade 3 composed of 29 pupils. During the turnover, local officials led by Governor Nestor Fongwan and Vice Mayor Clarita Sal-ongan laud Hedcor for this another milestone. The building was constructed with the counterpart coming from the Municipality of Tuba.
Meanwhile, the newly renovated classroom in Bodiweng is now being occupied by Grades 3 and 4 learners. Last year, Grades 1 and 2 classroom was renovated and repainted anew. The school has a total population of 38 pupils.
La Trinidad Mayor Edna Tabanda in the turn over ceremony encouraged everyone to take good care of the facility.
“Together with the Aboitiz Foundation, we continue to implement projects for education, environment, health and livelihood in all of our host communities,” said Hedcor’s Senior Vice President for Operations Chris Faelnar.
Before the opening of the classes this year, Hedcor has been actively involved in different educational programs in its host communities in Benguet, Mountain Province, Ilocos Sur and Davao. Some of these activities are Brigada Eskwela, school supplies distribution, computer donation, computer training for teachers, school perimeter fencing, high school financial assistance, and college scholarships.
Barangay Tadiangan hosts the Irisan hydro 1&2 in Tuba while Bineng, La Trinidad shelters the Bineng hydros 1, 2, 2b and 3.
Building that builds dreams. Pupils of Gilbert Semon Elementary School in Tadiangan, Tuba and Bodiweng Elementary School in Bineng, La Trinidad can now readily access the new learning facilities built and repaired by Hedcor in support to education in its host communities.
