Power firm distributes relief goods to flash flood victims

Residents in barangay Tugbok proper, Mintal, and Catalunan Pequeño were caught by surprise with the flash flood that hit their homes. Recognizing the immediate needs of its host communities at this trying time, Hedcor held a relief goods distribution to further assist the residents, especially those with partially or totally damaged homes.

Immediately after the flood, ready-to-eat food packs were handed out to affected residents in Brgy. Catalunan Pequeño, which has the most number of evacuees among Hedcor’s affected host communities. 

This was followed by the distribution of relief goods consisting mats and kitchen utensils in barangays Catalunan Pequeño, Tugbok proper, and Mintal. Hedcor’s assistance reached out to over 120 families.

Hedcor, together with other Aboitiz group business units such as Davao Light and Power Company, Therma South, Inc. and Apo Agua Infrastructura, Inc were one of the first responders in providing assistance to the victims of the flash flood.

 

Barangays Catalunan Pequeño, Tugbok proper, and Mintal house four of Hedcor’s oldest hydropower facilities. Hedcor is a run-of-river hydropower arm of AboitizPower which holds a total generating capacity of 277 MW of clean and renewable energy.
