Tamugan Hydropower Project

The 11.5-megawatt Tamugan Hydropower Project will harness Tamugan river and Gumalang creek in Davao City, estimated to generate 78 million kilowatt-hours of Cleanergy, annually.

The Tamugan Project is undertaken by Hedcor Tamugan, Inc., the special purpose company organized to enter into contracts for the development, construction, and operation of the Tamugan Project.

The feasibility study of the Tamugan Project commenced in September 2010 and the construction of the project is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2012. It is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2014.

Benefits of the host community through the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Projects will include environmental preservation and assistance focused on education, healthcare and livelihood.

The Tamugan Project will also generate income to the community and the municipality through shares over and above what is mandated by the law.
The proposed offtaker of the Tamugan Project is the Davao Light and Power Company, the distribution utility of Davao City.

The Project will be registered under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) as a Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Project.
